2009 Summer Camp Nutshell Info

We started our summer camps in 2003, and they have been popular ever since. The camp is run afternoons only during one summer week. It is an educational/ social/ competitive camp that's packed with fun for anyone aged 6 - 18 who wants to either learn chess, or improve their game.

Tournament games are rated with the Canadian Chess'n Math Association (our national scholastic chess body), and the international Chess Express Ratings service (for their helpful report-card like metrics).

Everyone who participates in the daily tournaments receives a ribbon acknowledging their placement.

Fresh seasonal and other snacks are provided around 2:00 p. m.

Camp day starts at 12:00 and finishes at 5:00 p. m.

Friday evening we host an optional potluck supper for all the campers and their families. After dinner we play Living Chess in costume with scripts.

Our $10 annual membership is included in the registration fee (Aug 1st - July 31st).

We will meet at Ferris Lane Community Church, 49 Ferris Lane, Barrie, for the weekday afternoons of August 17th - 21st.

Cost is $120. 00.
